Back in April, Apple launched its Self-Service Repair program and now Samsung is doing the same. At the moment, it seems to be available in the USA only and Galaxy owners can now do their own repairs to selected devices. This includes the Galaxy S20 series, Galaxy S21 series, as well as the Galaxy Tab S7+.

In an initiated collaboration with iFixit, Galaxy owners can now purchase some parts and easy-to-use repair tools through iFixit, service locations, Samsung 837 and Samsung retail stores. There are also online repair guides to help Galaxy owners navigate free of charge. Since it's related to iFixit, they can also visit the community forum to ask for help.

According to Samsung, Galaxy owners can replace the display by themselves now, as well as the back glass, charging ports and other parts. Samsung also plans to expand the self-report to more devices and repair options. The discarded parts can be returned to Samsung at no additional cost. It's also nice to know that technicians won't be able to look at your data when the Galaxy device goes into "repair mode"

Will this Self-Service Repair program ever come to Malaysia? We don't know as Samsung Malaysia has not made any announcement about that but we certainly hope so. After all, there is a good amount of Samsung fans and users here. Stay tuned for more trending tech news at TechNave.com.
