Many were disappointed when Samsung discontinued the Galaxy Note series in 2021 (the last model was the Galaxy Note 20 series in 2020). But it's not exactly gone, as it's been rebranded as the Galaxy S Ultra these days. And that could become more obvious with a name change in future models.
According to Yogesh Brar, Samsung may have plans to rework the naming scheme for its Samsung Galaxy S series smartphones. He claimed that Samsung may rename 'Ultra' to 'Note', while 'Plus' would be renamed as Pro. The former is to highlight the S Pen, made available to every Galaxy Ultra variant since 2021. Having said that, the built-in charging port was only added in 2022 with the Galaxy S22 Ultra.
Google had a weird name for Fold but they are not the only one

I hear Samsung could do the same
Ultra could be called Note, Plus would be Pro
What sounds better?
Galaxy S25 Ultra or Galaxy S25 Note ?
However, next year's Galaxy S25 series probably won't receive a name change, as the branding has allegedly been decided. In other words, the Galaxy S25 series will still have a Galaxy S25+ and Galaxy S25 Ultra. But in 2026, we could see the new naming scheme applied to the Galaxy S26 series. If that happens, the Galaxy S26 series will have three models: Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26 Pro, and Galaxy S26 Note.
We can't confirm that Samsung will go through with the new naming scheme yet, but it's interesting nonetheless. Which name sounds better to you, Galaxy S26 Note or Galaxy S26 Ultra? Share your thoughts in the comments and stay tuned to TechNave for more news like this.
