Samsung is almost ready to mass produce their foldable batteries

In August, we will probably get to see Samsung's next-generation foldable smartphones at the UNPACKED event. Other than foldable devices, do you know that the Korean tech giant is making foldable batteries as well? It is said that the company has been working on the bendable piece since 2016, and we might get to see it soon in upcoming devices.

According to the source, Samsung's ARM SDI is almost ready to have their foldable batteries mass-produced. Those batteries are going to come with capacity ranging from 3000mAh to 6000mAh. It is, of course, best use with foldable smartphones and also the devices like tablets that can be folded into small units when not in use.

Back in 2016, the company has made a prototype of the foldable battery with a capacity of 210mAh. Until now, they have come a long way by making full-sized ones to cope with today's consumers' needs. Other than Samsung, it is reported that Panasonic Corp., Sony Corp. (both Japan), and LG Electronics Inc. (South Korea) are also actively working on this technology.
