Samsung is indeed going in the right direction of starting a new era with its Samsung Galaxy S20 series. The series has brought us several awesome and powerful features including 100x zoom camera, 120Hz AMOLED display, 8K video recording and many more. Other than those features you might have known from the devices, there is also another one Samsung didn’t mention until yesterday, which appeared to be a special security chip.

The security chip solution called Secure Element (SE) is a mix of hardware and optimized software that will bring stronger security to mobile devices. By using this chip, confidential data such as passwords, PINs, bank credentials entered in the mobile device will be stored securely in the chip, instead of the device’s embedded storage.

It is also said the chip adds extra countermeasures to defend against malicious attacks such as reverse engineering, power glitches, and laser attacks, making it harder for hackers to hack into your device to get those confidential data. The solution can be compared with Google’s Titan-M security chip that brings the same concept. Last but not least, it is also reported that the new Secure Element solution is in mass production and will show up in other Samsung’s devices in the future.
