Most folks might not remember, but Samsung used to make VR (virtual reality) headsets back in the 2010s. In December 2024, we finally heard news of a new Samsung XR (eXtended Reality) headset. However, it's only now that we have a likely release window for the product.
Launch window confirmed
According to NewsWorks (via GSMArena), Samsung will officially launch the codenamed Project "Moohan" XR headset on 13 October 2025. The company plans to release the headset in South Korea first, before expanding to other countries later. This means that its arrival in Malaysia isn't guaranteed, as there isn't a high demand for such headsets here.
Reasonable price?
Besides the launch date, the source claimed the price for the headset is between 2.5 million and 4 million Korean Won (~RM7576 to RM12122). That makes it more affordable than the Apple Vision Pro's USD 3499 (~RM14818) launch price, albeit not necessarily more feature-rich. Since there are no details on specs and features for Samsung's headset yet, we'll have to wait for the October launch to find out which one is better.
Having said that, what are you hoping to see from the Project Moohan headset? Let us know in the comments below!
