With new products often come new tech and features, as is the case with the iPhone 12 series that Apple finally launched on Tuesday. For Snapchat, that means updating its Lens Studio app to version 3.2, which allows users to create LiDAR lenses for the higher-end models of the iPhone 12 series.

The new feature was briefly shown at Apple's iPhone 12 series launch and now Snapchat has confirmed that the update is available. Using the new Lens Studio 3.2, you can take advantage of the LiDAR scanner on the iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max, and the latest iPad Pro to create cool augmented-reality (AR) lenses that can be shared to others.

According to Snapchat, the A14 Bionic chipset is powerful enough for the device to render thousands of AR objects in real-time. The app now comes with a preview mode, where you can check what you're designing and how it'll look when it's 'overlaid' on the camera screen. You'll also be able to import third-party 2D or 3D models, create your own shaders, add a machine learning model, and more.
