Every year, Qualcomm hosts a summit near the end of the year to reveal its latest flagship chipset. The Qualcomm Snapdragon Tech Summit this year runs from 30 November to 2 December 2021, with the big reveal being the Snapdragon 898. Interestingly, some of its key details may have been leaked.

According to Sparrownews, a photo of a device (already removed) with the Snapdragon 898 chipset was leaked online. It shows that the device runs on the Qualcomm SM8450, which is the model number for the upcoming Snapdragon 898 chipset. As you can see, its CPU has a 1+3+4 CPU core combination. Based on a previous rumour, the first one would be the Cortex-X2 super core that's clocked at 3.0GHz. This is followed by the 3x Cortex-A710 cores clocked at 2.85GHz and 4x Cortex-A510 cores at 1.8GHz.

This more or less matches the numbers spotted in the leak. The only notable discrepancy is the 2.5GHz on the 3x Cortex-A710 cores. Besides the CPU cores, the Snapdragon 898 is also expected to have an Adreno 730 GPU, though we don't know how fast it would be clocked at. As for the phone in the leak, this is likely one of the first devices to run the Snapdragon 898 and could be the Xiaomi 12.

Of course, seeing the CPU specs and knowing how the device would perform are two different things. But for now, it looks like it's going to be a powerhouse. What do you think? Let us know in the comments, and stay tuned to TechNave for more news like this.
