Some iPhone users are facing rapid battery drain issues after iOS 15.4 update

Apple recently released iOS 15.4 for supported iPhone devices worldwide which comes with a slew of new features. Out of those, the most notable feature has got to be the ability to use Face ID while wearing a face mask, which is super convenient!

However, it seems that the update also brought aboutinconveniences too as many are complaining that their iPhone’s batteries are draining rapidly. In fact, there have been numerous complaints online by iPhone users regarding the matter, including on Twitter and Reddit.

According to a report by Tech Radar, many tech personalities and publications are also experiencing rapid battery drain on their iPhones. Furthermore, multiple threads have appeared on Reddit regarding the matter, with one Redditor claiming to even experience ‘horrible battery drain’ after the update.

What’s perplexing though is that not all that have updated to iOS 15.4 face this issue. In fact, some are even saying that their iPhones actually have better battery life after the update. Hence, your mileage may vary.

In case you haven’t updated your iPhone to iOS 15.4 and worried that you’d have worse battery life, don’t worry, as this may just be something temporary. Apple has actually responded to these complaints via its Apple Suppor tTwitter account and said that these occurrences are normal.

Apple further elaborated that up to 48 hours after a new OS version is installed, there will be variations is battery life. Apparently, iOS updates need time to evaluate and optimise battery performances. Apps and features also need time to adjust to the update.
