A Sony PlayStation 5 Pro (PS5 Pro) model was always something people expected. But it wasn't until December last year that news of the PS5 Pro first surfaced. As for the launch window, sources believe it would be within 2024.
For reference, the Sony PS5 also launched on 12 November 2020. If the PS5 Pro is scheduled to launch in 2024, we expect the launch date to be in November 2024. In fact, Tom Henderson (via Insider Gaming Network) strongly believes signs are pointing to a 2024 release for the console. He claims that documents from mid-2023 confirm a launch in the second half of November this year.
For those unfamiliar with PlayStation launches, Sony tends to unveil new gaming consoles in November. First, it's close to events like Black Friday and Cyber Monday, so consumers are more likely to go shopping. Also, it's near the Christmas shopping season when people are more loose with their wallets. In other words, there's a higher chance for an explosive launch sales campaign.
