Sony PS5 bug reportedly not letting users download games they’ve already purchased

While we’re still stuck here waiting for the Sony PlayStation 5 or PS5 to arrive next month (and the pre-order is sold out already), it appears that this may just be a good thing as new Sony PS5 owners have found a fairly disastrous bug. The bug in question reportedly does not let you download games or apps that you’ve already purchased, particularly Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.

New users have been reporting that when this happens, the PS5 hangs and neither canceling the download or restarting it seems to help. However, the PS5 does see it in the Library but in the PS Store it still asks if you want to buy the game. The only other option seems to be a full factory reset but you’ll have to say goodby to the saved games downloaded via the PS4 compatibility program. Sony haven't said anything officially yet.

This month long wait for the PS5 pre-order could actually turn out to be a blessing in disguise as we expect more such bugs could happen soon. Hopefully when Malaysians do get their brand new Sony PS5, all of these bugs would have been sorted out, unless of course you’re one of those people who couldn’t wait for the official pre-order and bought it via third-party sellers.
