As we enter the extended Movement Control Order tomorrow, it was inevitable that more movies will also have their release dates shifted to a later date. In this latest news, Sony Pictures is the latest movie studio to announce more movie delays. This includes Ghostbusters: AfterlifeMorbius, the untitled third Spider-Man movie with Marvel and many more.

That said, you can say that Sony Pictures actually moved almost their entire movie roster to 2021 except Fatherhood. Interestingly, Fatherhood is the only movie scheduled for 2020 and it was brought forward from January 2021 to October 2020. The two blockbuster movies - Ghostbusters: Afterlife and Morbius starring Jared Leto are now slotted for a March 2021 release. On the other hand, there are also two movies with an unset date - Greyhound and the untitled Sony/Marvel movie.

Anyway, below are the complete date changes of the Sony Pictures movie lineup:

  • Greyhound – TBD (from 6/12/2020)
  • Fatherhood – 10/23/2020 (from 1/15/2021)
  • Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway – 1/15/2021 (from 08/07/2020)
  • Ghostbusters: Afterlife – 03/05/2021 (from 07/10/2020)
  • Morbius – 03/19/2021 (from 07/31/2020)
  • Uncharted – 10/8/2021 (from 03/05/2021)
  • Untitled Sony/Marvel – TBD (from 10/08/2021)

Besides Sony Pictures, Warner Bros have also delayed Wonder Woman 1984 to 14 August 2020, same goes for Disney's Mulan and Marvel's Black Widow, Fast 9 from Universal, A Quiet Place Part 2 and James Bond: No Time To Die are all postponed.

It's a sad year for movie fans, but then again, this also means we have more time to catch up or rewatch on some of the movies we missed and love.
