If you plan to get a Sony PlayStation 5 (PS5), hold on to your wallets because the new version is hitting our shores soon. First announced in October 2023, the new Sony PS5 Slim has taken a while to come to Malaysia. But now it has been confirmed it will launch here soon.
As announced by Sony Malaysia, the Sony PS5 Slim will be available in Malaysia on 20 February 2024. Overall, the new model will be 30% smaller than the original. The new Disc and Digital editions are also 18% and 24% lighter than their predecessors. Besides changes to weight and size, the PS5 Slim will feature new coloured cover plates in Volcanic Red, Cobalt Blue, and Sterling Silver.
In terms of pricing, the Sony PS5 Slim will retail for RM2499, while the Slim Digital Edition is priced at RM2069. Moreover, Sony Malaysia is expected to sell additional accessories separately. The new Vertical Stand will cost RM149 and the Ultra HD Blu-ray-Disc Drive retails for RM529, with the latter intended for the Digital Edition.
