The launch of Sony's next true wireless stereo earbuds is probably just around the corner. Images of the Sony WF-1000XM4 were spotted last week, showing a brand new design. Now, sources have also leaked some details about the new model.

According to WinFuture, the WF-1000XM4 will come with a new Sony V1 chip, which promises an improved active noise-cancelling (ANC) performance. On top of that, the new model will support LDAC, a codec for streaming high-res audio via Bluetooth. If that's not enough for you, it even comes IPX4-certified. This means that it'll be safe from rain and water splashes.

Speaking of the features, the WF-1000XM4's ANC can now be enabled for up to 24 hours. Since the earbuds have a rated battery life of up to 8 hours, it means that the charging case can provide up to an additional 16 hours of music playback with ANC enabled. Allegedly, if you charge the battery with the earbuds in the case, it could even last up to 36. However, we're not sure if this is with ANC enabled.

The Sony WF-1000XM4 is expected to retail in Europe for 280 Euros (~RM1410), which would make it much more expensive than its predecessor (now RM849). Of course, that's due to the European pricing and maybe the enhancements. But would you be willing to pay for the upgrades? Let us know in the comments, and stay tuned to TechNave for further updates.
