Last week, it was suggested that the Sony WF-1000XM6 could be launching soon. A leak on a retail website revealed the images and price of the new Sony earbuds, which typically happens closer to the official release. We now have some details of the specs, so let's take a look.

Tech specs confirmed

According to Dealabs, the Sony WF-1000XM6 will launch tomorrow (12 February 2026). The latest Sony wireless earbuds feature a new QN3e audio processor, which is expected to deliver three times the performance of its predecessor. In addition, the WF-1000XM6 will sport eight adaptive microphones and new drivers. That means we can expect improved active noise cancelling (ANC) and better audio performance.

List of specs (as revealed by Dealabs)

For audio features, the Sony WF-1000XM6 will also have LDAC, DSEE Extreme, and a 10-band EQ. And in terms of connectivity, it has Auracast, Multipoint, Fast Pair, and Swift Pair. Having Multipoint means the earbuds can connect to at least two devices (phone and laptop), but Sony could improve on that with the new model.

Lastly, the source claimed that the Sony WF-1000XM6's battery can deliver up to 24 hours of battery life. That's 8 hours for the earbuds and 16 hours for the charging case. Of course, these are likely the values. Expect the battery to drain faster when ANC is enabled.

Worthwhile upgrade?

There is no teaser or official announcement on the Malaysian retail price, but the Sony WF-1000XM6 will have a higher price tag than its predecessor (RM1399). Still, the new model offers improvements and could be a solid upgrade.
