There's no doubt that mobile gaming in Southeast Asia is immensely popular. Free-to-play, accessible, and easy on our pocket money, many brands are trying to break into the mobile gaming market such as the recently released Apex Legends Mobile by EA. Now, Sony wants a piece of the pie too.

This was discovered in a slide from Sony's investor portal. There, a news media outlet spotted that the PlayStation Studios is planning to expand its portfolio into new markets, namely mobile, live service and VR. Overall, the PlayStation Studios expansion roadmap is up until FY2025 with various plans. It's not known which game title that Sony wants to transition into mobile yet.

Sony is also continuing to invest in new partners, particularly those with "established third-party IP" that is aligned with the "values of PlayStation Studios" as well as internal studios with original IPs. As for live service, Bungie will assist PlayStation Studios on an SIE Live Services Centre of Excellence.

For your information, Sony has already ported a few exclusive PlayStation games to PC. The God of War is the latest one (check out our review here), alongside Death Stranding, Horizon Zero Dawn, Days Gone, as well as Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection. Besides that, there is also a new announcement that Sony is pushing for Horizon Zero Dawn for Netflix and God of War on Amazon Prime
