The TECNO Phantom V Fold could be the latest foldable display smartphone to come to Malaysia as soon as 4 May 2023 23:59. Appearing in a somewhat teaser-like listing on their official Shopee store, the TECNO Phantom V Fold is confirmed to come with tech specs like a Dimensity 9000+ chipset, 120Hz AMOLED display, up to 12GB RAM and up to 512GB storage.
Other tech specs include the 6.42-inch AMOLED external display and the unfolded 7.85-inch AMOLED display. Both will have 120Hz refresh rates but the triple rear camera will come with a 50MP main camera while the 5000 mAh battery will support 45W fast charging.
The Shopee listing offers up other details and features such as a 32MP front camera and what appears to be the basic version which comes with 8GB RAM + 256GB storage. This will support up to 8GB virtual RAM while the main display will offer a 2296 x 2000 pixel resolution with an LTPO adaptive refresh rate but only up to 1100 nits local peak brightness.
With the Malaysia release date set for the aforementioned 4 May 2023 23:59 (ok, let’s just say 5 May 2023 midnight), there’s still no news on the pricing. The listing does say it will come in Black and White, but we hope that there won’t be just 2 units available to buy as shown in the listing (but it would be great if they were each RM999 as per the RM??? though).
