TSMC and Apple are claimed to be jointly conducting R&D on the 2nm process

It was reported that TSMC's 3nm process will be entering mass production next year and Apple is the first to contract with the manufacturer for the technology. Now, a source is claiming that TSMC will also be working with Apple to develop the 2nm process.

It is said that TSMC and Apple are jointly conducting R&D on the 2nm process. According to recent reports, the company has promoted four of its staff over the past few months. These promotions are claimed to enable these staff to have more input in the development of the 2nm process.

Furthermore, the chip manufacturer has also received tons of orders for its 3nm process even it's still in the process of development. Recently, TSMC has also moved the focus of its advanced process deployment to Hsinchu, Taiwan, where most of the 3nm equipment will be located.
