TechNave Gaming - Football Manager might be faster on Google Stadia

According to Google, Football Manager will be able to play faster on Stadia compared to those playing on local hardware. We’ve already heard that Stadia is able to run graphic intense games with high fps even on low end hardware but hearing it able to run a game better than high end local hardware? That’s pretty cool.

Sports Interactive Director Miles Jacobson mentions that the game on Stadia utilizes, “technology that is only available on that platform, utilizing the power of the cloud and Google's data centres to ensure that more matches can be processed in parallel utilizing spare bandwidth across the whole system. This means you can have more leagues loaded into your save, or just go for a faster experience by keeping the amount of leagues the same, but having the matches process quicker than you can on any other platform."

This may just be the first game to claim that it runs better on a cloud based system than local hardware. Likely this is due to the fact that the game comes with behind-the-scenes simulations which only allows them to process as fast as the hardware allows them to. With Stadia, local end hardware limitations would no longer be an issue.

If these claims are true, designing games that takes advantage of Stadia’s cloud distributed CPU system may become a thing instead of just designing games with better graphics (think of the limitless amount of simulation games that could be possible!). Google Stadia is due to launch in 14 countries this November (but not in Malaysia). What do you think? Keep up with the latest gaming news on TechNave.com!
