Back in February, we reported that Malaysia Airlines is planning to integrateDigital Travel Pass this year. But it's not just Malaysia, but many other countries are coming together to better facilitate air travel which might be ready in the middle of this month.

According to the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the IATA Vice President Kamil Alawadhi said that the app should arrive first on the iOS platform on 15 April 2021. It's currently in testing and as for the Android version, there's no release date yet. In case you missed our previous news, the Digital Travel Health Pass' purpose is to help screen every passenger's health condition especially showing proof of taking a negative COVID-19 test.

Since passengers will be required to go through a COVID test, all the results and vaccination cards will be stored within the travel pass app. IATA also said that this will be the most secure way to assure the government and air travel authorities, as lab test centres can issue digital certificates easily for passengers. At the moment, nearly 300 airline members have joined IATA's plan and 20 of them are now testing out the app.

As Malaysians continue to receive the vaccination, we too will have to soon download the Digital Travel Pass app into our smartphones in the near future. Stay tuned for more trending tech news at TechNave.com.
