With the release of the POCO F4 GT last night, it was also announced by Digital Nasional Berhad (DNB) that the phone can be connected to a 5G network in Malaysia. Besides that, the Samsung Galaxy S22 5GGalaxy S22+ 5G, and Galaxy S22 Ultra 5G  are now compatible as well.

Just like the Samsung Galaxy S21 series, you will have to update all the Samsung Galaxy S22 series models' One UI software to the latest version in order to use the 5G network in Malaysia. While Xiaomi Malaysia didn't disclose any steps for the POCO F4 GT, we assume that it's the same with the software update.

To recap, the POCO F4 GT is available in Malaysia in Stealth Black, Knight Silver, and Cyber Yellow. Releasing in two variants, it will be priced at RM2299 or RM2499 for the 8GB + 128GB and 12GB + 256GB variant respectively. There's also an early bird pricing starting from 28 April 2022, which will be priced at RM1999 and RM2199 respectively.

Despite the aforementioned phones being available to connect to the 5G network, that also means customers will have to purchase a separate YES 5G SIM card (unless they are already using it). At the time of posting this news, Celcom, Digi, Maxis and U Mobile have not agreed to the terms of the 5G Reference Access Offer by DNB. This has unfortunately brought a lot of inconvenience for Malaysian mobile users.
