The Red Magic 10 series will launch on 13 Nov 2024

It was reported late last month that the Red Magic 10 series could launch soon. nubia is set to launch possibly three new models, with one model featuring the largest display for a smartphone. Yesterday, the company also confirmed the launch date.

According to the announcement, the Red Magic 10 series will launch on 13 November 2024 (3PM MYT) in Beijing. There's also a post confirming that the displays for the Red Magic 10 series are manufactured by BOE. Dubbed the "Wukong screen", it's supposedly the first 1.5K resolution display without a punch-hole. That also means the front camera would be an under-display camera.

The display specs were not mentioned, but it was previously suggested that at least one model - likely the Red Magic 10 Ultra - will have a 7+ inch display. All models should also support a refresh rate of at least 120Hz. In addition, the Ultra variant could sport a large 7000mAh battery and 100W fast charging. As for the chipset, we're sure the Red Magic 10 series will use the Snapdragon 8 Elite.

Besides the above, the announcement featured a slogan that roughly translates to: "Comprehensive transition, not just for e-sports". That implies the Red Magic 10 series is intended for everyone, not just mobile e-sports gamers. It almost feels like nubia wants to do what ASUS did with the ROG Phone 8, ditch gaming aesthetics for a more standard look. If that's true, the Red Magic 10 series could (in my opinion) lose one of its strong points - design.

Of course, we don't have the full details yet, so some things aren't confirmed. But I'll be disappointed if nubia stops implementing gamer-centric designs. What do you think? Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned to TechNave for more news like this.
