Previously, we mentioned how the Starlink satellite service is a temporary fix for long-term internet solutions in Malaysia. Today, Elon Musk’s company just launched 6 new Starlink satellites into space. So, what should you know about it?

For your information, these satellites now support Direct-to-Cell services on T-Mobile in the United States. Thanks to this tech, everyone in America will have more secure internet coverage and service nationwide. This tech is especially handy when they are travelling to rural areas or simply out for exercise.

Thanks to this progress, you can also enjoy internet coverage in the middle of the sea. Previously, the best service you could get in the same place came in the form of text messages via the iPhone satellite service. As you can expect, there was no internet coverage and voice call support.

Rumour says this tech is being further tested before it rolls out to everyone. Besides T-Mobile, other telco from various nations have collaborated with Space X’s Starlink for the Direct-to-Call service. That includes KDDI (Japan), Optus (Australia), One NZ (New Zealand), and Rogers (Canada).

We have yet to confirm if this technology is coming to Malaysia or if other telcos in Malaysia have struck a deal. So, take this news with a pinch of salt. However, we could expect this tech to come to Malaysia some time in the future.
