The affordable Perodua EV will launch in December 2025, with testing set to begin in June

The Perodua electric vehicle (EV), the company’s first of its kind and touted to be an affordable EV priced under RM100,000, has been in the rumour mills for a while, and now we may have gotten a concrete timeline for its launch. This info is courtesy of Sime Darby group chief executive officer Datuk Jeffri Salim Davidson, who recently shared his thoughts on the Malaysian motor industry with NST.

In the interview, Jeffri revealed that the Perodua EV will launch in December 2025. Moreover, testing of the EV is set to begin a few months earlier in June.

He added that the Perodua EV model has already received positive feedback at automotive exhibitions. For context, Sime Darby holds a 38% stake in Perodua.
