Previously, we mentioned how WhatsApp could release the email address verification feature soon. Today, Meta announced the feature is now available and is being rolled out to everyone. That said, what should you know about it?
For your information, this new update will let you sign into your WhatsApp account via your email address instead of the usual SMS. Previously, the feature was available in Beta. Now, everyone can use it.
According to WABetaInfo, this update does not replace the SMS verification feature. In fact, it provides you with more options for logging in. The alternative method could be handy when there is no cellular coverage for you to log into your WhatsApp account.
In addition, you can add your email address to your account by tapping the “Your Profile” tab. Then, choose the Account menu, and tap Email Address. You should get a brief notification from WhatsApp saying the email address is only used to access the account and won’t be visible to other users.
