As much as I'm loving the macro mode on the iPhone 13 Pro, I also mentioned in the article that I wish there was a toggle for that so I can be in full control of my mobile photography experience. Thankfully, Apple will be implementing that in the next iOS 15.2 update and it's currently in beta testing.
In case you didn't know, the macro mode on both the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max will activate by itself whenever you get close to a subject within 2 centimetres or so. While it seems like a convenient function, some photographers (like me) don't wish to have an auto macro mode. So to solve that, Apple decided to add the toggle option in the Settings then Camera.

Once the user enabled the toggle, it will automatically appear when you get close to a subject. As you can see in the Twitter post, there is a new flower icon on the bottom left of the camera app user interface. With that, the user can just tap on it to toggle macro mode whenever he or she wants. Preserve Settings for Auto Macro will be added as well.
As of iOS 15.1, users can actually go to the Settings and turn off Macro Mode completely but it's a hassle to turn it back on again. Besides that, iOS 15.2 is said to integrate new functions such as Legacy Contacts, Find My lost item scanning, Communication Safety and others. It will take some time before the update rolls out so stay tuned for more trending tech news at TechNave.com.
