Yesterday, we mentioned that WhatsApp could get a multi-account feature. Today, we found out that WhatsApp is working on passkey support. That said, what should you know about this feature?

According to WABetaInfo, a hidden passkey setup menu has been found in the latest beta version of WhatsApp for Android. After that, a message will greet you with “You can now use your fingerprint, face, or screen lock to verify if it’s you with a passkey”. As of now, this feature is in its beta and there is no way to enable it.

The passkey is not a new feature in this line of technology. For instance, Apple automatically assigns a passkey to Apple ID accounts for users on iOS 17, iPadOS 17, and macOS Sonoma. We have yet to confirm when the passkey feature will be available on WhatsApp. However, we can confirm that this feature will arrive officially soon.
