Earlier this month, vivo launched several eye-catching new devices, including the vivo Pad, vivo X Fold as well as the vivo X Note. Well, the Chinese tech giant is not resting on its laurels it seems as it is set to unveil another device, the vivo x80 later this month.

Shared by vivo via its official Weibo account, the x80 is set for an official release in China on 25 April 2022. In the Chinese social media platform post, vivo even shared a video which showcases the x80 series’ design.

One of the most stand out design element of the upcoming device has got to be its rear camera bump. Its design shares the same design language as the recently released X Note and X Fold, though the x80 series has a slightly different lens arrangement.

The video further showed that the x80 series will have a long rear-panel window with a circular hump containing its camera setup. The cameras are positioned in a rectangular 2 x 2 position inside the circular bump, with a Zeiss logo visible above the upper-right lens.

Speaking of which, vivo made the camera setup in collaboration with Zeiss. Moreover, vivo is reportedly trying to market the x80 as a ‘professional photography’ smartphone.

No specs confirmation has been made just yet about the x80, though it is rumoured to be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8100 chip for the x80 and a Dimensity 9000 chip for the x80 Pro. Meanwhile, the x80 Pro+ is touted to have a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 CPU.

What do you guys think of the x80 series’ design? Would you snap one up if it’s available in Malaysia?
