Back at the end of March this year, we reported that Netflix could be secretly working on a phone game controller for the TV. Well, TechCrunch.com just discovered that there's a new Netflix Game Controller app on the Apple App Store.

At the moment, Netflix didn't release any news about the new app nor any announcement for that matter. But anyway, the description on the App Store reads "Coming Soon to Netflix. Play games on your TV with the Netflix Game Controller. This Game Controller app pairs with your TV and allows you to play games on Netflix."

You can download the app if you want, but it's not going to do anything. At the bottom of the screen, it's also noted that Netflix Games on TV are in beta so I guess we won't be seeing anything new anytime soon. TechCrunch.com tried reaching out to Netflix for a comment but no details were shared about the app.

That being said, we also have a first look at the game controller from the screenshot given from the App Store. It has the usual walking controller stick on the left and the usual X, Y, B, and A buttons for action commands. We don't know if Android would get the same treatment as iOS users, but I guess we just have to wait and see.
