All Malaysians must have heard the news that our government will further extend the MCO period until 28th April. Therefore, we will be entering the third phase of MCO after 14th April. During these days, many business operations and constructions have been halted and the country’s economic status has no doubt been affected. To boost the economy, our government will now allow several different industry sectors to apply for permission to operate as usual.

The list includes aerospace industry, the automotive sector, construction sites, architecture, quantity surveying and many more. For the sectors that are closer to daily lives, some services from hair salons to laundry services will also be included. For the retail sector, shops that sell hardware items, electric and electronic appliances will be eligible to submit the applications as well. Therefore, you will finally get a haircut or maybe purchase a new gaming console to help you survive the third phase of MCO.

To submit the applications, companies will have to log on to http://www.miti.gov.my from 13 April onwards to register. If your company fits the conditions, your application will be further processed. However, a set of strict rules will still have to be followed during operations, failure to do so might result in the immediate revocation of the operation permit and face legal actions.
