Threads could soon support DMs

It's been almost 2 weeks since Threads launched, but the company isn't ready on its laurels. Previously, Instagram's boss announced that features like hashtags will be added. And one of those upcoming features should include DMs (direct messages).

According to Business Insider (via Gizmochina), a leaked document suggests that DMs will arrive sooner than later. It's likely that DM is a highly requested feature, which is why it would be among the first upcoming features to be introduced to the app. The feature could also allow for cross-platform messaging, specifically messaging between Instagram and Threads.

Besides DMs, Instagram is allegedly also working on "Trends & Topics", "Improved search", and "Messaging" sections for Threads. The first is likely the equivalent of Twitter's "Trends for you" section on the main screen, while the other two are also self-explanatory. However, we don't know how these features would look on the app, so you'll have to wait for more updates like us.
