TikTok has been the trendy platform for short form videos and today the company is announcing a new feature that will allow users to embed mini apps onto their videos. The new feature is named Jumps, and it is currently in the testing phase, so only a selected group of creators have access to the feature at the moment.

According to TikTok, there will be a button above the caption of the video for the viewers and once you click on it, the content then will jumps onto a new screen within TikTok.  As for creators, they will be able to choose to add Jumps and customize the content that viewers see after tapping onto it.

A few months back, the company worked with a select group of companies to be included in the Jumps such as Whisk, Wikipedia, and Tabelog.  As of now, TikTok is working on expanding the companies to be included into Jumps and opening up applications for developers who want to be part of it. After submissions, TikTok will evaluate how useful it thinks they’ll be to its viewers.

As of now, there’s still no information on when it will roll out fully to the users globally, so do update your TikTok app frequently. What do you think of this new feature update? Let us know on our Facebook page, and for more updates like this, stay tuned to TechNave.com.
