In early February, Tim Cook mentioned that Apple is already working on generative AI. He didn't elaborate further, keeping on a tight lip but just recently at the company's annual shareholders meeting, he added a bit more things about Apple's AI plans.

As you should know, Apple's AI is scheduled to come later this year which could debut on the next-gen iPhone 16 series. Tim Cook believes that Apple will "break new ground" this year and believes that it can "unlock transformative opportunities" for users. Since November last year, Apple has spent a "tremendous amount of time and effort" on AI.

According to reports, the generative AI features are likely to appear on iOS 18 and boost the built-in iOS apps' capabilities further. Other than that, nothing else much was said about the AI features. The shareholder meeting went on as usual with the Apple board and executive compensation plans approved but rejected an AI transparency report on ethical usage.
