TweetDeck has a new name: XPro

Previously, we mentioned how Elon Musk changed his mind about the default theme for X (formerly known as Twitter). Now, the controversial CEO of X has renamed the TweetDeck to X.

In case you didn’t know, TweetDeck allows you to view multiple timelines in one interface. It also includes convenient features such as managing multiple Twitter accounts, scheduling Tweets for posting in the future, building Tweet collections, and so forth.

As of now, you might notice that “tweet” was renamed to “post”, and “RT” (retweet) became “repost”. This is part of Elon’s effort to rebrand Twitter. As a result, the TweetDeck is now known as XPro. However, there are traces of the old Twitter on the new XPro. The most notable part is TweetDeck’s URL, which displays “https://tweetdeck.twitter.com/”. You might also notice the iconic bird logo when browsing for the software on Chrome Web Store.

In addition, the XPro could become a subscriber-only benefit. On 3 July 2023, the company’s support account announced that XPro would only be available for those who pay to be verified “in 30 days”. X also mentions that it could launch the long-awaited TweetDeck Preview as TweetDeck 2.0. Currently, the full X rebranding is slowly rolling out across the platform, including on the company’s Android and iOS apps.
