Back in April, Twitter announced that it has been working on an Edit button for years and revealed plans to roll it out for testing. Now, it looks like the blue bird is true to its word as the feature is finally rolling out to users, though only to subscribers of Twitter Blue for now.

Announced by Twitter yesterday on, well, Twitter, the social media platform told users that “if you see an edited Tweet it’s because we’re testing the edit button” and that “this is happening and you’ll be okay”. Furthermore, the BBC reports that Tweets will be available to edit within a 30-minute period after posting.

As of right now, Twitter Blue is only available in the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, hence the Edit function is only available in these countries first, though initial tests will only be conducted in one of those nations. Twitter Blue has a subscription fee of USD4.99 or ~RM22.38 per month and subscribers will be getting to test out the Edit button in the upcoming months.

As for Tweets that have been edited, an icon, timestamp and link to their "Edit History" will be shown on the Tweet itself. This is to "protect the integrity of the conversation and create a publicly accessible record of what was said”, the company announced in its blog.
