It was only a few days ago that Sony announced the PlayStation 30th Anniversary Collection. Initially, the collection can be pre-ordered on regions that support direct.playstation.com, which Malaysia isn't part of. However, we received news that it will be coming here after all.
According to Sony, interested customers can start to pre-order the PlayStation 30th Anniversary Collection from participating retailers tomorrow onwards (26 September 2024) at 10 AM. At the moment, no pricing details have been released yet but we can expect the limited edition digital console to be over RM2,000 only M4G has listed the collection online (you have to type out 30th Anniversary Limited Edition in the search engine) revealing the official local prices. The PS5 Digital Edition - 30th Anniversary is RM2,299, followed by the Portal Remote Play at RM1,099, as well as the DualSense Edge and DualSense wireless controllers at RM1,099 and RM399, respectively.
That being said, M4G has posted an update that the 30th Anniversary Collection is fully booked. You also have to contact or walk into the participating stores directly to pre-order, as announced by TinyRobot, TMT and Impulse Gaming. We assume other participating stores will operate the same way, as a way to combat scalpers from purchasing online. Only one customer is entitled to purchase a limited edition PS5 digital console, while supplies last.
In Malaysia, customers can pre-order the 30th Anniversary Limited Edition of the PS5 Digital Edition, Portal Remote Player, DualSenses Edge Wireless Controller and DualSense Wireless Controller. As you may have noticed, the PlayStation 5 Pro Console 30th Anniversary Limited Edition is not available in Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia. Only Singapore is getting the pro variant.
We will update this page again tomorrow when the pre-order sales go live. The participating stores include many well-known ones such as Sony, Gamers Hideout and the aforementioned stores. You can check the full list there.
