Last month, it was reported that Visionox has begun mass-producing displays that can turn transparent. With this, smartphone manufacturers could start creating devices with under-display cameras. Allegedly, phones bearing this type of display could be coming soon.

According to Gizmochina, Visionox has already shipped over 3.5 billion yuan (~RM2.14 billion) worth of OLED displays to Huawei and Xiaomi since 2H 2019. It's uncertain if this includes the new displays, but the company has started to ship these displays to manufacturers in China and globally. If that is true, then phones that come with under-display cameras could very well launch within 2020.

From what we know, Visionox is also working on flexible displays and showcased this in November last year. Since the company has been shipping to both Huawei and Xiaomi, this could explain why Xiaomi's patent for a foldable device is similar to the Huawei Mate X. It's also rumoured that Huawei could be making a clamshell-style foldable and it could be using Visionox's display.
