After rolling out HD photo support last week, WhatsApp today releases another highly-requested feature to users: HD video support. Rolling out gradually to both iOS and Android users, read on to find out more.

As reported by TechCrunch, the new feature allows users to share videos at up to 720p quality. Previously, the Meta-owned messaging platform compressed video to 480p, its previous resolution limit.

To send HD videos, users just have to select the video(s) they want to share and tap a new HD button on the top of the screen. The dialogue box will then appear, prompting you to confirm whether to share in Standard Quality or HD Quality, as well as the associated file sizes.

Afterwards, users can just press send to share the video as per usual. Moreover, WhatsApp also promises that the shared videos or photos will be encrypted end-to-end.

If you haven’t received this feature yet, worry not as it is gradually rolling out, meaning you’ll get it soon enough. As always, do stay tuned to TechNave for more trending tech news such as this.
