WhatsApp has been quite busy over the past few months, coming with various updates such as accessing to Messenger Rooms and just recently, a "WhatsApp Pay" feature that has begun in Brazil. But that is just the tip of an iceberg, for in the coming months there will be several new features such as multi-device support, new search tools, storage interface and more.

According to WABetaInfo's tweet post, the multi-device support will allow WhatsApp users to sync up their account to up to 4 devices. That will be pretty useful if you have more than one smartphone which is quite common in Malaysia, so if you open up your WhatsApp on two different devices at the same time, it won't clash together. It's currently under development so we don't know when it will be released, but this is certainly a feature that we look forward to.

New storage interface

Next, the WhatsApp team is also working on a new Search By Date feature. How this works is that a new calendar icon will appear above the keyboard and by tapping on it, you can choose any date for your messages. The new Storage Usage tools also have a new look and more tidy, even integrating a 'Sort By' button with newest to oldest, or size.

Wait, there's more - You can also see a new 'Clear Except Starred' which should come in handy, that means no more losing starred messages when clearing your Whatsapp! The team is also testing a ShareChat video player feature but it seems that this will only be for the Indian market. Since ShareChat is a popular Indian social network app, the feature will look more or less the same as playing a YouTube video in the chat room via picture-in-picture mode.

These new features look promising but since they are all under development, there's also a chance that they might not make it to the final stage before release. Until then, stay tuned for more trending tech news at TechNave.com.
