WhatsApp now won't limit functions if you haven't accepted the privacy policy temporarily

Previously, there was much news about WhatsApp limiting some functions if the user didn't choose to agree with the new privacy policy. This includes account deactivation if the user is inactive but it seems that the team is backtracking on that. So even if you didn't accept it, you won't be limited by some functions.

Supposedly taking place after 15 May 2021, this was confirmed by Facebook that they have changed their minds but it's just temporary. Although WhatsApp will not immediately delete the user's account after 120 days, the pop-up reminder will still appear. If the new privacy policy is still not accepted after several weeks, it will only restrict one certain core function which was not mentioned.

According to WhatsApp, the majority of users have accepted the new privacy policy already. However, the team have faced a couple of challenges around the world such as India demanding them to retract the policy. Germany also banned WhatsApp for collecting data and even the update is not released yet in Turkey. WhatsApp is currently appealing to these government bodies in explaining the policy is meant for businesses.

If you haven't accepted WhatsApp's new privacy policy yet, you might as well do so because there is a good chunk of your friends and family members using WhatsApp. Stay safe and stay tuned for more trending tech news at TechNave.com.
