Earlier, Windows had released a lite version of its latest operating system update, Windows 11. The Windows 11 SE is designed to fit compact laptops for high school and college students. It has also appeared on the recently launched Surface Laptop SE. Now, it is reported that it's better not to uninstall the OS as it can't be purchased separately and reinstalled on the same machine again.

According to the source, Microsoft is not planning to put the OS onto the shelves for sale. Not only it means that educational institutions are not allowed to install it onto the existing laptops or PCs, but the laptop that comes with it would not be able to reinstall it again after uninstalling. Therefore, if you wanted to use Windows 11 SE again, the only way would be to purchase a new one that comes pre-installed with it.

To recap, Windows 11 SE is basically a 'watered-down version of Windows 11. The OS has been optimized for educational purposes by creating a less power-hungry learning space for users. It has also skipped some of the features available on Windows 11 to provide a smoother workflow on less-than-performing laptops.
