In case you haven't heard, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Mobile Platform is now official and it's expected to be released this month. Many Android phone brands will be using this new high-end chipset and it's no surprise that Xiaomi will be one of them.
Shortly after the announcement of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun also officially announced that the Xiaomi 12 series will be the world's first smartphone to be powered by the new chipset. This isn't really a surprise, since the company did the same move with the Snapdragon 888 chipset last year.

In the short video announcement, Lei Jun said that both Xiaomi and Qualcomm have been working together for months. We will know pretty soon about the features and the potentials of the Xiaomi 12 series, as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 is offering a lot of the world's first features such in the areas of camera, AI, sound, gaming and more.
Besides Xiaomi, realme also announced that some of its future flagships will be featuring the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. Other notable brands that are going to use the chipset are Black Shark, HONOR, iQOO, Motorola, Nubia, OnePlus, OPPO, Redmi, SHARP, Sony Corporation, vivo and ZTE.
