Xiaomi Malaysia replaced the burnt phone with a new Redmi Note 10 5G for the Malaysian student

Earlier this week, we reported that a young Malaysian student's smartphone caught on fire during an online class. It has certainly drawn the media and public's attention, including Xiaomi Malaysia who came forward and visited the family, donating a Redmi Note 10 5G for free.

To refresh your memory, the mother of the child, Puan Suryani Abd Ghani said the incident happened at home and the phone was received through the Jaringan Prihatin Program. Xiaomi Malaysia informed us that they managed to get in contact with the family and donated the aforementioned Redmi phone to continue his online classes. Needless to say, the mother was relieved and thanked the company for the assistance.

In case you didn't know, the Redmi Note 10 5G costs RM799 in the Malaysian market. Tech specs include a MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset, up to 6GB + 128GB memory configuration, a 6.5-inch 90Hz FHD+ display and a 5000mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging. As for the camera, it has a 48MP + 2MP + 2MP triple rear camera and an 8MP front camera sensor.
