Xiaomi Mi 9 may have an almost bezel-less display and tiny waterdrop notch

The upcoming Xiaomi Mi 9 is Xiaomi’s upcoming smartphone. Latest renders of the device have surfaced online and it shows the smartphone with a teeny tiny waterdrop notch as well as very slim bezels on the side. The smartphone does have a slight chin, though. It is speculated that the device may be priced at 2999 Yuan (~RM1819) and may be unveiled in March.

Some of the known tech specs of the smartphone include the Snapdragon 855 but it is mentioned that the device may not feature the X50 LTE modem for 5G connectivity. Besides that, the phone may come with 10GB RAM and 512GB of internal storage with a 3500mAh battery capacity which is may be supported by the 32W fast charging technology. If this is true, the Mi 9 may not have wireless charging.

It has been leaked before that the Mi 9 may have a 6.4 inch full-screen display with a pretty cool 2K resolution. The back will sport a triple rear camera setup with LED flash which will be placed on the top left of the smartphone’s back. Camera-wise, the device may be equipped with a Sony IMX586 48MP sensor, an 18MP secondary sensor and lastly a 8MP camera.

From the renders, it seems like there’s no rear fingerprint scanner which indicates that the device may carry Xiaomi’s latest UD fingerprint scanning technology. In addition, the device may have facial recognition as well.

It is rumoured that this device may make an appearance at MWC 2019. However, no official announcements have been made about the device yet so make sure to take this in with a good dose of skepticism.
