For those of you who have been patiently holding off upgrading for the Xiaomi Mi 9, you are about to be rewarded! DirectD has announced that the device will be here in Malaysia in April and pre-orders are already available on their website for RM1999.

No specific date for the arrival of the device had been revealed on their website yet but you can already pre-order the device for a RM200 deposit. It is also unsure if the sales are made in collaboration with Xiaomi Malaysia as no official announcement has been made by them yet. However, the Facebook post by DirectD does mention that the Mi 9 set they are carrying is an original set from Xiaomi Malaysia and comes with a one year warranty by them as well.

The Xiaomi Mi 9 boasts tech specs of 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage. It is powered by the Snapdragon 855 with a 3300mAh battery capacity. It comes with a USB-C port, 27W Quick Charge 4+ charging, 20W fast wireless charging, an under-display fingerprint reader and dual SIM support.

As for its design, it comes with a 6.39 inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with a waterdrop notch at the top of the screen. You’ll find a triple rear camera setup on the back with 48MP + 16MP (ultra-wide) + 12MP (telephoto) sensors. In the front, you’ll find a 20MP selfie camera housed in the waterdrop notch. The device features two colours which are Piano Black and Ocean Blue.

The last time we got our hands on the Xiaomi Mi 9, it was at MWC 2019 and we were pretty impressed by it. Personally, I wouldn’t be too comfortable pre-ordering anything without a definitive launch date but if you are eager for your very own set, you may do so here. We’ll be updating you with the launch date of the device here in Malaysia as soon as it is announced on TechNave.com!
