Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 could launch in 2021 with under-display camera

When Xiaomi announced that it would be hosting its 10th-anniversary event, many expected a new Mi Mix device like the Mi Mix Alpha to be launched. But while the Mi 10 Ultra was launched, Xiaomi said that there wouldn't be any Mi Mix device for 2020. That doesn't mean we won't see any leaks for a Mi Mix device though, as a new one for the Mi Mix 4 was found.

According to China Mobile, a poster image depicting what could be the Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 was leaked online. Expected to launch in 2021, the Mi Mix 4 has a large display with a waterfall design and no visible notches or punch-holes. As for the back, you can see what seems to be a quad rear camera setup and an LED flash in a vertical layout. Interestingly enough, the design of the back is similar to the Mi Mix Alpha.

The leaker claims the source of the image is credible, we'll see...

Going back to the front, it's clear that Xiaomi could be using a different mechanic for its front camera. While it could be the same slide mechanism used for the Mi Mix 3, it's more likely that Xiaomi will make use of its recently showcased third-generation under-display camera. The waterfall screen design is also a strong hint that there won't be a sliding mechanism.

Of course, the image looks rather suspect so you may want to take this rumour with a grain of salt. A new Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 is possible, but it may not be the design depicted here.
