The Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 has been in the rumour mills for a while and now, the Chinese tech firm has officially teased the foldable smartphone’s release. A launch in August 2023 was also confirmed, as well as details regarding its cameras.
Taking to Weibo, the company corroborated our previous report on the release date and how it would be the first device manufactured in Xiaomi’s new ‘Smart Factory’. In the post, a teaser poster for the Mix Fold 3 was also showcased, with emphasise on its hinge, though not much info can be extracted from it.
What’s confirmed though is the foldable’s camera system being fine-tuned with Leica, continuing the collaboration between the 2 companies. It’s also revealed that the Mix Fold 3 will feature a quad-camera setup, one more than its predecessor, the Mix Fold 2.
With the upcoming release of this foldable smartphone and the potential launch of OnePlus’ first foldable, the OnePlus Open next month, it looks like the foldable smartphone space is getting pretty exciting. The question still remains though: Can other manufacturers compete with the newly released Galaxy Z Fold 5?
