Xiaomi and Leica partnership confirmed, could be for Xiaomi 12 Pro

Back in May, it was reported that Leica would end its partnership with Huawei after launching the Huawei P50 series. There hasn't been any news on which brand the company would partner with next. But a reliable source may have leaked the news.

According to Digital Chat Station (via @chunvn8888), Xiaomi will be the next brand that Leica will collab with. The tipster posted an image (that was since deleted) of a smartphone with the Leica branding on the right and the caption. He also wrote the caption "Coming soon..."

If this is indeed a Xiaomi device, it would most likely be a Xiaomi 12 series device. As you can see, it features a triple-camera module that includes what seems to be a periscope lens. If you look closer, you can also see the terms "120x" and "AI CAMERA", suggesting that it would have a 120x zoom. Based on the design, this could be the Xiaomi 12 Pro or Xiaomi 12 Ultra.

Since the source removed the picture, it's a solid indication that the rumour is true. That means we can look forward to better cameras on the Xiaomi 12 series. Would that make you interested in getting one? Let us know in the comments, and stay tuned to TechNave for further updates.
