The rise of mobile gaming means that GPU performance in a smartphone is something people pay more attention to these days. Despite that, there hasn't been an app that outright allows the user to control a mobile GPU so far. That's about to change, thanks to a Xiaomi and Qualcomm.

According to Digital Chat Station, Xiaomi and Qualcomm have partnered up to develop a GPU control panel for mobile devices. You can think of it as a simplified mobile version of the NVIDIA Control Panel and AMD Radeon Software for PC. He also claimed that this feature will debut with Xiaomi's next flagship device, which many expect to be the Mi 10 Pro Plus. We're not sure if this will be added to the Mi 10 or Mi 10 Pro.

Speaking of the Mi 10 Pro Plus, an AnTuTu benchmark for the phone was found recently. It recorded a whopping 687422 for a chipset that should be the Snapdragon 865+. Besides that, it's expected to have a quad-camera setup with possibly one of them being a 108MP sensor, as well as support for over 100W fast-charging.

Anyway, we can probably expect this new mobile GPU app to be available in more Snapdragon-powered smartphones in the future. But do we need it and will it be useful?
