In the recent event of Celcom and Digi merging together, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) also mentioned that Yoodo, a subsidiary of Celcom must be sold off or cease its operations after the merging is complete. So what will happen to Yoodo?

A Yoodo spokesman just posted an update for those who are curious and concerned. Bringing the message directly from the Head of Yoodo, he said and assured us that the business and operations will continue as usual. If we are being honest, it seems to indicate that Yoodo will continue until it's no longer operational.

Nevertheless, the Head of Yoodo also mentioned that there will be more upcoming innovative products that cater to our mobile consumption needs and lifestyle. This includes the areas of mobile gaming esports, entertainment, K-pop music experiences and many more. Yoodo will release more announcements if there are any changes in the future.

If we follow the timeline, the Yoodo-ers can continue to use the Yoodo services until the merging process is expected to be complete in the second half of 2022. Despite that, the services should continue for up to three years. This is because Yoodo is essentially an MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator) and can access a wholesale service for three years.
