Talking in group chats or spamming your chat a million miles a minute can be annoying to reply to especially when two of these scenarios happen: 1) No one knows which message you are replying to 2) You need to reply to someone’s particular text personally. FB messenger now has a solution for both these problems.
FB Messenger just introduced a new feature on the messaging app called quoted reply. This is useful when in group chats or chats where both of the recipients are spamming too many messages at once. It allows you to reply directly to the particular message so the message is not lost in translation. To do that, simply long tap on a message and choose the reply option to the right of the reaction emojis. From there just type in your reply. You can even do that on desktop by clicking on the 3 dots beside the message and choosing reply.
While you can’t privately reply to a message sent in a group chat like you can on Whatsapp, I wouldn’t be surprised if FB does implement it in the future. FB Messenger has been adding some pretty useful features such as dark mode and encrypted messages for better securing our messages from unwanted eyes. Do you like the update?
